Hello. Well, I'm gonna be honest: I'm not gonna use Newgrounds as my main update hub and here's why: after some time of debating to myself, I'm gonna move on to a different place. However, that doesn't mean I won't come back and visit this place. In fact, I love this place, but after my lack of participation and a tiny amount of loss of interest on my part, I need a different place to blog.

To put it simply, I'm announcing my Mastodon profile for further updates. If you have a Mastodon account, go and follow it. I know, this is right after I put up my memorial of my mother, but hear me out: I just don't want bother people here with my blog posts. Sure, I'll upload a tune or game here and there, but that'll be it.

On February 16, 2023, my mom, Renae E., passed away.

I really don't know how to process this. Really. My mother was the most important person on the planet to me. It's gonna be hard to live without her. My mother had a heart of gold and would help me and anybody else that is...y'know...down...?

This is affecting me harder than you think. Posting this took longer because I'm still processing everything that just happened, however, I feel like I should've saw this coming. Healthwise in recent years, she has been through a lot of shit. A lot. Pneumonia, COPD, and all that. Even worse, she survived COVID last year and was relatively fine. That really hurts me because she survived through all that...and finally died.

It's gonna take some time to process everything right now, however I will still chug on.

With that said, I know some of y'all aren't religious, but I'll leave a brief prayer/poem here. Before I do, I should note that I disabled the comments for this post. Send me condolences through DMs and stuff. Alright?

Let's begin:

Lord, please take Mother under your wing

Keep her safe, no matter what I do

Lord, please help me process my grief

And reassure me that she is home.

Hello there. It's been awhile since I actually update.

Well, long story short, I've been tired. Plus, I was really busy recently, hence why there wasn't anything new in 2 weeks or so.

To make up for this, I have several pieces of great news and some bad news. I'll start with the bad news first: I might not be able to do a major release besides singles for now due to a serious case of creative block. That's about it on the music front. As for games, I was unable to do much on that front either. Hell, I cancelled any further development on a Twine game a couple months ago due to some negative feelings getting in the way (not necessarily a bad thing to have feelings, but it still kinda hurt tbh).

Now for great news on the games front, I've been heavily into ZX Spectrum and other 8-bit computer platforms. So, I might do something with that eventually. However these things take time. Plus, I need to learn some stuff first before I announce anything. With that said, expect a drought of updates...on the games front of course.

Anyway, on the music front, I've decided to not anounce much, but let's say I have a surprise compilation coming up on the kaobell muzik netlabel, which is still a work-in-progress. I won't say much else though since I intend to keep it secret until next month. Not sure what else I can say about the music front. There'll probably be more surprise releases on the singles on here. So, yeah.

...and I'm about to give some people grace until 9:00pm CST to finish up and submit to the contest. There is a prize and it's last minute. Like I said in the initial post, this is for fun. However, that doesn't mean you can slack off on your effort if you participate. Everybody will get a big thank you from me for any sort of effort, but the top remixes will get a secret invite to my still-under-construction Discord room, which might mean you'll get help me with a project I've been working on over the past six months.

What project? My new netlabel of course: kaobell muzik

kaobell muzik is something I'm still working out details on and this is the 2nd namechange I've done. It'll focus on anything with some emphasis on bass and rhythm...and maybe some cowbell phonk and drift house. You name a type of music with bass and rhythm emphasis, you got it. Gqom, breakbeat, dubstep, future garage, drum-n-bass, jungle, techno, jungle techno, and even some cloud phonk and shitphonk (shout out to C#ntsplitterkor, or American Psycho Corps, for the name of the latter of the last two).

Anyway, good luck...and may the best effort be in at least the top 3 if I get enough.

I finally decided on a new deadline for the carjacker's wrath remix contest:

January 13th, 2023.

As per usual, same rules apply. Use at least some of the stems from the original track...and also use the same CC license as the original as well.
