Long story short, I finally decided on a deadline for the remixed chips and other stupidity thing, but first, here's a quick recap on what it is:

"remixed chips and other stupidity" is a remix album of two chiptunes that I'm proud of and have recently released: "hedgie thing" and "raging bull". Pick one to remix or sample both of them for an original track (as long as you credit me in it as a collab of sorts). It'll be released on a crusty netlabel called "Landfill OS" and all that jazz.

Now the question is "when are the tracks fxxxing due, cheez?" After careful consideration to myself, I've finally decided on a hard deadline: July 23, 2022. No later than that! I promise.

Hey guys. I've waiting to announce this for quite some time and now I think is a good time.

I'm doing a compilation/remix album called "remixed chips and other stupidity".

The rules are simple: sample stems from my two chiptunes "hedgie thing" and "raging bull". Both are available on SoundCloud. Here's the link to the stems. You can do whatever with them, whether it be a remix or an orginal track altogether (though the original track has to co-credit me, e.g. "ok cheez + [your artist name] - example track title")

Also, the tracks have to be at least a minute long, but no longer than 5 minutes.

Deadline is loose, but I would recommend sending your track in somewhere at the end of June.

The album will be released on a netlabel called LANDFILL OS, a rather crusty label of fun, noisy stuff.

I think it's time that I talk about this: I'm retiring "r_chase" as my main music alias.

Trust me when I say this: I wasn't too sure at first either, but I've been thinking about it ever since I came up with "ok cheez" as my reddit username. However, do not fret. I'm gonna leave up my old r_chase stuff as part of my personal history as well as, well, you can't really delete anything off the internet anyway.

To be truly honest, I wasn't happy with "r_chase" as an alias and I personally needed to change it for some time. So, yeah.

I hope you guys understand this and I want to thank y'all for sticking with me.

Hey guys. How have you been? It's been awhile.

So, long story short, I'm actually taking a break from making music. After yesterday's shenanigans, you thought this might be a late April Fools joke, but it's not. I'm actually gonna be taking a break. However, with all that said, I'll be focusing more on another venture altogether now: learning how to write something decent.

If there is one thing I love more than music making, it's telling a story. From a crackfic AU similar in nature to SMG4 video to something more simple.

I've yet to decide on where to start on that, but it is what I want to do. Thanks for sticking by me even during my phonked-up phase (I still love phonk btw).

Okay. So, long story short, I've been working at a day job. Hence the lack of activity from me lately. I've also increased my work hours, which I wanted to so I can make more money to fund my hobbies and stuff. Including music.

Well, as you can tell, I just uploaded a new chiptune. This time made mostly with the Magical8bitPlug tool.

Anyway, the new netlabel is still being worked on, but I'll reveal its name here: Worm Machine.

It's gonna be a multigenre music label with each compilation being a different theme/genre of electronic music. I'll reveal more details later.

With all that said, I want to take the time to apologize for being gone for so long. I had some personal stuff to take care of among other things IRL.

So, before I go over the information about why I'm continuing to overhaul stuff, I got some bad news:

I gonna have to cancel the Toytown Rave Revival compilation because of too many IRL stuff happening. Plus, I hardly remember the reason for planning it. I think I did it on a whim or something. Anyway, I do sincerely apologize for cancelling so close to the deadline, but by god, I'm so busy right now.

Anyway, now that I got that out of the way, I'll tell you why I'm continuing a gradual overhaul. It's kinda important that you read this.

First off, you notice some changes to my SoundCloud as I mentioned in a previous post, but just in case if you haven't noticed on this page, I slightly made a change to my Newgrounds profile. It seems small and insignificant but I guarantee you this is sign of changes to come. However, I'm keeping my ghost flame rabbit as my profile pic for most of my accounts, because it actually means a lot to me. It's kinda my brand now.

Anyway, now, on to my second phase: I'll be planning a new netlabel altogether. Fiery Rabbit Collective was obviously not going anywhere, but the Bandcamp will serve as an archive for past stuff of mine and some friends. By "friends", I mean one labelmate that actually released on it by themself. My split releases don't really count, sorry.

So, now what? Well, the new netlabel will be even more of a gradual process as a result of trying to juggle my net life and my actual life, but it will start with an new, invite-only Discord server that will not open to the public until we have an actual compilation/release (of course I'll be inviting my friends and some guests first). Now, what will be the label be? Well, I might have it specialize in electronic music in general, especially chiptune and various hardcore releases (maybe both if I get lucky). Now, what will be the netlabel's name and first compilation theme? I hate to say it, but wait and see. Not even kidding.

Also I might also not use Twitter for social media as much as I used to. In fact, I thought about deleting my Twitter account altogether and starting fresh. Hell, I might actually do it eventually, because it was a shitty account I started back in high school. I follow too many people and stuff. Speaking of social media, I'm pretty comfortable with Instagram, so you could follow me there @r23chase too.

Anyway, I should probably stop rambling and see what I can do. After all, it's what got me in a mess in the first place.

TL;DR

• New netlabel with better planning and releases (note: the best and latest FRC release is by an anonymous acid producer. I think some of you knew that, but yeah, actually not me).
